We offer unfunded one and two-year research fellowships in the field of Interventional Pulmonology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The objective is to provide postdoctoral students with mentored, individualized research training to prepare them for careers in academic medicine. The research fellow will split his/her time in independent study and has full access to the library resources of Harvard Medical School. Independent research projects will be carried out under the direct supervision of faculty of the Division of Interventional Pulmonology and Thoracic Surgery. Research and learning objectives will be individualized according to past experience, research interests and career expectations. Our graduates have gone on to success academic postgraduate medical residency programs.

Fellowship Objectives
- Develop foundation of clinical research project development
- Formulate a research question perform a review of literature
- Develop a clinical research protocol (both prospective and retrospective) that is submitted and accepted by the Institutional Review Board
- Submit and present at least one abstract and a national conference
- Submit at least one manuscript to a peer reviewed journal

Candidate Requirements
- Completion of Medical School (MD, DO, MBBS)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Personal Statement (1 page maximum)
- One letter of recommendation from a supervising physician or physician who can speak to your character professionally
- One letter of recommendation from the Dean of your current or most recent Medical Institution
- Completed USMLE reports or TOEFL iBT reports
